Fishino Piranha is the second member of 32 bit series of Fishino boards. The boards follows the layout of Arduino MKR1000, which makes it compatible with all its available projects, but extending its capabilities thanks to the 32 bit processor, a big memory and the on-board additional components. The hightlights of Fishino Piranha board are the ability to be powered by a LiPo battery and a flash memori of 512 KBytes which, along with 128 KBytes of RAM, allows development of very complex applications.

Layout 100 % compatible with Arduino MKR1000
Fishino Piranha is based on Arduino platform, keeping its simplicity with the IDE, but increasing greatly its capabilities thanks to the embedded 32 bit controller and add-ons.
Even being powered internally with 3.3 Volt, we’ve used all the 5V tolerant pins available on the controller to make all digital I/Os compatible with the 5V logic levels of Arduino UNO and followers. That guarantees that all Arduino breakouts can be used on Fishino Piranha.
Having more available pins on the 32 bit controller, we’ve also freed many digital I/Os which were used on Fishino UNO for internal periferals.
High performance switching power supply

All Fishino Piranha’s power supply stages are in high performance switching technology. You can power it by a LiPo battery, the USB connector or the external supply plug with a voltage range from 3.5 Volt to over 20 Volt without the thermal problems that are common to original Arduino boards, even when powered by just 12 Volt.

Can be powered by a single cell LiPo battery

Fishino Piranha has a battery supply module on board with chager for single cell LiPo batteries. It can be used for your mobile projects.

Integrated WiFi module

Fishino Piranha has a performant WiFi module on board, which firmware has been tailored by us. With Fishino you’ll be able to connect to an existing WiFi infrastructure or build your own one.

MicroSD interface on board

The ability to use a readly available microSD card brings Fishino Piranha the ability to work on big data sets, build small web servers and portable data loggers.

RTC module embedded in the controller

The 32 bit controller has an embedded RTC (Real Time Clock) module which runs even with the main processor in stand-by mode; this allows Fishino Piranha to keep the internal time even with no power supply and, if required, to wake it up on external events.
