The 32 bit Fishino board

  • High performance PIC32MX controller
  • high performance, with 120 MHz clock, 512 KBytes flash and 128 KBytes RAM
  • WiFi module on board
  • MicroSD card reader on board
  • RTC module on board
  • Stereo audio codec on board
  • High performance switching power supply
  • Additional pinheader connector for breadboard compatibility
  • Can be powered by a single cell LiPo battery, with on board charger
  • Can be powered off by software and awaken by external events
Fishino32 is the first member of 32 bit series of Fishino boards. The boards follows the layout of Fishino UNO, which makes it compatible with all available shields, but extending its capabilities thanks to the 32 bit processor, a big memory and the on-board additional components. The hightlights of Fishino32 board are the ability to be powered by a LiPo battery, an embedded stereo audio codec and a flash memori of 512 KBytes which, along with 128 KBytes of RAM, allows development of very complex applications.
Technical specs:
Layout 100 % compatible with Arduino UNO
Fishino32 is based on Arduino platform, keeping its simplicity with the IDE, but increasing greatly its capabilities thanks to the embedded 32 bit controller and add-ons.
Even being powered internally with 3.3 Volt, we’ve used all the 5V tolerant pins available on the controller to make all digital I/Os compatible with the 5V logic levels of Arduino UNO. That guarantees that all Arduino shields can be used on Fishino32.
Having more available pins on the 32 bit controller, we’ve also freed many digital I/Os which were used on Fishino UNO for internal periferals.
High performance switching power supply
All Fishino 32’s power supply stages are in high performance switching technology. You can power it by a LiPo battery, the USB connector or the external supply plug with a voltage range from 3.5 Volt to over 20 Volt without the thermal problems that are common to original Arduino MEGA boards, even when powered by just 12 Volt.
Can be powered by a single cell LiPo battery
Fishino 32 has a battery supply module on board with chager for single cell LiPo batteries. It can be used for your mobile projects.
Integrated WiFi module
Fishino 32 has a performant WiFi module on board, which firmware has been tailored by us. With Fishino you’ll be able to connect to an existing WiFi infrastructure or build your own one.
MicroSD interface on board
The ability to use a readly available microSD card brings Fishino the ability to work on big data sets, build small web servers and portable data loggers.
RTC module embedded in the controller
The 32 bit controller has an embedded RTC (Real Time Clock) module which runs even with the main processor in stand-by mode; this allows Fishino32 to keep the internal time even with no power supply and, if required, to wake it up on external events.
Embedded Hi-Fi stereo audio codec
In this board we’ve embedded a stereo audio codec which allows playing most audio files and to record audio using an external stereo microphone. Adding audio effects to your projects will be easy thanks to the audio libraries developed for this purpose.
Breadboards compatibility
The addition of a shifted pinheader connector solves the well known Arduino problem of breadboard and prototyping boards incompatibility. Fishino MEGA allows you to prototype your shields on a common breadboard while keeping at the same time the compatibility with existing shields.
